Gonzalo Fonseca Torres
I was born in Santa Rosa de Viterbo Boyaca. I am the son of a farmer who has lived as the generations that preceded next door snowy mountains Cocuy in the district of Boyaca.
My artistic career started when I was very young, I always had the facilities for drawing and art.
After my bachelor degree, with some friends we formed a theater group called YAPA, its main objective is find the myths of the Chibcha culture and presents them on stage. We had been a great success in different parts of the country.
In 1998, I left theater activity during national service because of lack of opportunities offered by the Army.
In 2000, military service ended, I went to Switzerland for 5 years to training the fully develop of my arts at the School of Visual Arts Pierre Moor (painting, drawing, sculpture, etc ...).
During this sojourn in Switzerland, I realized three exhibitions that were so successful.
In 2006 at the end of my studies and my return to Colombia, I presented at the French Alliance of Cartagena my exhibition "Inner Beast". This exhibition was presented at Zipaquirá and Bogota in 2007.
"The hunting", work realized in 2007 and 2008 has been presented successively to the German Alliance, the French Alliance of Santa Marta and the Museum of Antioquia in Medellin.
I am a member of a Foundation named "The blue mouth" whose mission is to improve the nutrition of children of poor communities in Colombia.
I created a program that allows these communities to get the tools, knowledge bases necessary for their development and their members.
This year, we opened a library base for this education's work.
